Plastic Tubing
Plastic tubing of various lengths and bores constructed of materials suitable for general laboratory, biopharmaceutical, food and beverage, medical, vacuum, low-pressure, high-pressure, cleanroom or environmental applications. Products may be chemical- or corrosion-resistant. Formulated for resistance to flex fatigue and abrasion, plastic tubing is more flexible and less permeable than rubber tubing.
How Is Plastic Tubing Used?
Flexible plastic tubing may be used as transfer lines for contamination fluid control, hydraulics, protective jacketing, vacuum pump and diaphragm pump feeds and discharges, refrigeration, water and fluid lines, food and beverage, instrumentation, research laboratories, agriculture, material handling, air and gas lines, chemical lines and pharmaceuticals.
Types of Plastic Tubing:
• PVC: lightweight and flexible, will retain its bore on bending and can be sterilized up to 121°C
• Silicone: ideal where a hard-wearing material is needed, including transfer of liquids or higher temperature environments
• LDPE: good for general low pressure and temperature, instrumentation, corrosive atmosphere, and food processing
• PTFE: has excellent chemical-resistant and temperature-resistant properties
• PE: flexible, lightweight, durable, and corrosion resistant, used for a wide range of liquid, gas, and fluid transfer applications
• FEP: clear, small-diameter tubing, the economical choice for chemical resistance and broad temperature exposure
• PEEK: high-performance polymer with mechanical and chemical resistance, and highly resistant to thermal degradation

Applications: Pharmaceutical, biotech, and general-purpose lab uses requiring high performance. Economical alternative to platinum silicone. Altafluor 400 PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy) is the product of choice for applications involveing extreme chemical resistance combined with high temperature. Altifluor 400 is made exclusively from 100% virgin grade high performance resin used to resist stress cracking. The highest molecular weight resins available giving it superior physical properties making it suitable for even the most demanding applications. Chemically inert to nearly all industrial chemicals and solvents. It has a higher thermal stability than FEP. is translucent in appearance. It is FDA compliant for food contact, FDA 21 CFR 177.1550. It meets the requirements of USP Class VI, is non-flammable and has a moisture absorption of nearly zero. Altafluor is compatible with flare of conventional fittings.

Altafluor 200 FEP (Fluoronated Ethylene Propylene) is an economical choice for applications requiring chemical resistance in combination with broad temperature exposure. Altafluor 200 FEP offers excellent clarity which makes it ideal for sight glass/flow monitoring applications. Certified to NSF 51, NSF 61 and NSF 372. It has superior electrical insulation properties and is available in coiled hose and convoluted tubing constructions. Grainger Corrugated Tubing PE 1-1/4 in 50 ft
The Corrugated Loom Tubing 1-1/4" from Grainger is flexible polyethylene tubing that protects wires and cables. Altafluor 550 KYNAR FLEX PVDF (Polyvinylidene flouride) is a more flexible version of PVDF. It is suitable for use with flare fittings, is resistant to many commonly used industrial fluids and gases (including ozone), and does not support the growth of fungi. It is preferred for water disinfecting processes such as aquarium, spa, pool and agriculture. Kynar Flex PVDF is approved for use in food contact applications in compliance with FDA regulation CFR 177.2600, NSF: tubing is produced using NSF 51 and NSF certified resin. It is chemically resistant to many indrstrial chemicals and solvents and has low smoke and flame properties and resistant to bacterial and fungal growth.

Applications: Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, aerospace, food and beverage, and general lab applications. Characteristics: Platinum-cured, excellent heat resistance, low compression set, odorless, nontoxic, translucent. Certification: Elastomer is FDA-compliant (21 CFR 177.2600) and meets USP Class VI; exceeds 3A Sanitary Standards. Tubing is manufactured according to GMP. Temperature range: -58 to 446¿F (-50 to 230¿C) Sterilize: Autoclave or gamma irradiation.
Grainger InsulMultitapCon PVC 14 AWG 1/0 AWG
The Polaris Insulated Multitap Connector is an electrical connector that allows multiple wires to be connected to a single point. It is rated for 600 volts and can accommodate wire sizes from 14-10 AWG. The connector has 4 ports and is made from thermoplastic polyester with nickel-plated brass terminals. It is UL listed and CSA certified. The multitap is insulated to help prevent shorts and is ideal for splicing and extending circuits. This connector can be installed by stripping the wires, inserting them into the ports, and tightening the screws to secure the wires. It is manufactured by Polaris in the United States.
